Innovative solutions
Constantly alert to market developments, the Portable Battery Group also offers solutions with higher energy densities:

Nickel-metal hydride batteries, with more energy density than Ni-Cd cells, can provide greater autonomy in certain applications,
Lithium-ion batteries, whose weight-performance ratio is three times greater in certain conditions than nickel-cadmium batteries. 

A cylindrical battery consists of positive and negative electrodes, a separator, an electrolyte, a nickel-plated steel case and a gas-sealed plate with a safety vent valve.

All these components are subjected to exhaustive qualitative tests in Saft's Technical and Quality Departments.
